So… yeah… my art output really dropped off through 2004 and then even worse into 2005. Let’s see what I can even find to post.
February 11, 2005 – ART POST: JAMES AND LILY (HARRY POTTER)
This was the last year I did something for the HP Valentine’s Project.
April 18, 2005 – SUESSICAL POSTER
This was one of my fav posters I did. And it went a lot faster because it was a quicker way of colouring, haha.
May 9, 2005 – ART POST: LUKE AND VADER
I THOUGHT this was a school art auction piece for that year but Darth Maul was the auction piece. I think this is one I was asked to do for someone else at the school as a gift. But anyway. I was happy with how this came out. I’d only drawn Vader once before, haha.
And then… that’s literally it for 2005. The next art related post is in 2006, LOL.
February 21, 2006 – ART POST: OBI-WAN
I started this Obi-Wan but never finished it, which makes me kinda sad because I still rather like it.
And then I did a play poster in 2006… and that’s it for that year!
April 26, 2007 – ART POST: THE WIZARD OF OZ POSTER
This was the last play poster I did. Chase did the text and the background. This one caused some drama because apparently I left an extra off, and that extra happened to be the child of some important booster, and he was pissed. The extra wasn’t present when I went to take reference pics and he literally didn’t even have lines. He was a munchkin. I actually had to go draw the kid and drop him into the corner of the poster after the opening night. Andddddd we’re done.
August 19, 2007 – ART POST: 2007 COSTUMES
I doodled these up to make a Dragon Con 2007 “poster” of all of my costumes. I actually hung this on the door of our hotel room at Dcon…. I’d never do that now! LOL.
February 1, 2008 – ART POST: BELLE’S LIBRARY DRESS
Reference for the Belle’s library dress I was currently making, decided to finish it up…
OK here we go.
December 26, 2009 – TODAY’S ART, ARIEL
In late 2009 I started drawing some princesses and finishing them in a flat colouring style. I liked them and they were quick to do, so I thought, how about if I make this a 365 Day goal? I post one piece of art everyday for a year. At that point I wasn’t posting on my blog all that much, and I figured it would be a good way to get me drawing AND posting again. It worked pretty well in that regard! A lot of these ended up being super rushed though, since I was trying to get one up a day. Later on I went back and revisited some of these to clean them up. I’m only going to share some of my favs here, starting with Ariel.
December 27, 2009 – TODAY’S ART: BELLE
Belle is one I went back and touched up the face on later, but I still like the original too. (You can see the later version in the header.)
January 6, 2010 – TODAY’S ART… GISELLE
Another one that the face cleaned up a bit later (see header – I used the later versions when I made these headers). I always liked the movement of this one.
January 12, 2010 – TODAY’S ART… ARIEL
Another Ariel, she’s just so fun to draw.
January 15, 2010 – TODAY’S ART… GISELLE’S WEDDING DRESS
All these ruffles were super fun.
January 25, 2010 – TODAY’S ART… GISELLE!
I just really like all these Giselles, ok?!
February 2, 2010 – TODAY’S ART, TIANA
Princess and the Frog had just recently come out so it was hard to find references of some of her other outfits. Which was disappointing because I love Tiana and I loved her different costumes, and I don’t feel like I did them quite right.
February 12, 2010 – BELLE WEDDING DRESS ARTWORK!
After I kinda finished all the “standard” princess looks, the “village” looks, the fairies, etc… I started doing wedding dresses. If they didn’t have a wedding dress from the movie or the (straight to video) sequel or any art that I could find, I made it up – Meg’s was made up, Aurora’s was made up, and Belle’s here was made up – well, kind-of. I put Belle in my own wedding dress, LOL. I thought the tiered effect of the back echoed the tiers of her ballgown nicely that it fit.
February 26, 2010 – TODAY’S ART… POCAHONTAS
And after I exhausted wedding dresses, I pulled out my old book of historical costumes and started picking out historical outfits to stick them in.
March 9, 2010 – SNOW WHITE ART, JANE UPDATES
Anddddd then I started sticking them in each other’s costumes.
March 24, 2010 – TODAY’S ART… AMIDALA BLACK SENATE GOWN
I exhausted my Disney ideas (actually I still had a file of about 20 more but none of them interested me much)…I decided to change up royalty and start doing Star Wars.
April 13, 2010 – ANAHEIM SCHEDULE & LEIA ART
I don’t really care for most of the Leias I did int his project, but I liked this one.
April 26, 2010 – TODAY’S ART, BESPIN LEIA
And I liked Bespin… except now I know how wrong the embroidery is, it’s too short and why is it curving?! LOL Maybe I need to redo this one.
April 29, 2010 – TODAY’S ART: PADME LAKE DRESS
I always like drawing the lake dress.
May 9, 2010 – TODAY’S ART, SENATE PADME
The detail on the Padme costumes was always a lot of fun to do.
May 7, 2010 – MANDALORIAN ART
I included my own mandalorian costume in there, too.
June 2, 2010 – AMIDALA SENATE ART
More detail stuff I enjoyed doing.
June 13, 2010 – A WHOLE LOT OF NOTHING… AND PICNIC PADME
I really liked this one.
And after that, I got into Dragon Con crunch and stopped doing them everyday. Last one I posted was July 13 and that was a full month after the previous one.
October 10, 2010 – ART POST: WONDER WOMAN
For a couple of years in a row our office participated in a Race for the Cure and we had team shirts I made. I did a Wonder Woman piece for 2 of the shirts. This was the 2010 shirt — I still have mine! On the shirt she’s in black and white and pink.
December 16, 2010 – FINISHED RAPUNZEL
Limping across the finish line… in december I finally did one more for my princess project, I added Rapunzel in after just seeing Tangled.
Next 2011 through today!
